During the summer of 2024, I joined Apple Inc. as a Product Design Intern in the Vision Products Group, working out of Sunnyvale, California
At Cadillac Fairview (CF), my role was to manage operations within the TD Centre in Downtown Toronto, overseeing and evaluating vendor contracts, as well as running daily meetings updating staff on building incidents, maintenance, and sustainability initiatives. Here, I conducted KPI analyses on 8 different office complexes within CF's Toronto Office Portfolio, evaluating performance metrics, ensuring a minimum of 95% operational efficiency in service requests & preventative maintenance.
Additionally, I successfully led a mold abatement project for heat exchanger piping insulation replacement, overseeing all stages from initiation to final inspection. I collaborated closely with contractors, environmental, and mechanical consultants, through a bidding and tendering process, ensuring high standards of work completion and rigorous inspections.
As part of CF’s Green at Work (GAW) initiative, I led the reduction of building emissions by 3% year-over-year. This involved a comprehensive analysis of various utility consumptions including water, steam, natural gas, chilled water/cooling, and electricity. This also helped the operations team identify potential issues, such as leaking appliances or steam valves, which would be visible through the analysis. Overall, this led to significant reductions in energy consumption and contributed to the broader corporate goal of reducing environmental impact.
At H.H. Angus, I worked with a Commercial Engineering consulting team and specialized in mechanical and electrical systems implementation for the Toronto Dominion Centre in Downtown Toronto.
One of my main projects was an End-of-Trip facility for the Toronto Dominion Centre. This would act as an arrival space for bicyclists, and have bike storage, showers, and change rooms. To design the systems for this area, I used both AutoCAD and Revit to implement HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression and storm drainage systems.
Another project of mine was to reduce Stack Effect in buildings, pressure differences that lead to elevator entrapments and increased energy usage. This was done by implementing BAS protocols to isolate and eliminate HVAC imbalances
